Why Your Vinted Sales Are Dragging (And How to Fix It)
If you’ve been following my reselling journey at heonyook.com, you know I’m always testing the waters of different marketplaces. Lately, I’ve noticed a frustrating trend: while my Mercari and Poshmark shops are humming along, my Vinted performance is lagging significantly.
If you’re seeing "crickets" on Vinted while other apps are blowing up your notifications, you aren’t alone. After diving into the data and the current 2026 resale landscape, I’ve realized that Vinted isn't just a "list it and forget it" version of Poshmark—it’s a completely different beast.

The "Vinted Gap": Why is it performing differently?
1. The Buyer-Pays-Everything Model
On Poshmark and Mercari, sellers often bake the shipping and fees into the price. On Vinted, the seller pays 0% fees. This sounds like a dream, but there’s a catch: the buyer pays a "Buyer Protection fee" plus shipping. When a buyer looks at your $20 item, they see a total closer to $27. If you price your Vinted items the same as your Poshmark items, you’re accidentally overpricing them in the eyes of the Vinted shopper.
2. The "Mall Brand" Culture
Poshmark thrives on boutique and high-end brands. Vinted, however, has a reputation for "closet clears"—think Zara, H&M, and Target. High-ticket items often sit longer on Vinted because the audience is looking for a "steal," not a "splurge."
3. Lack of "Social" Bumping
Poshmark requires constant "sharing" to stay at the top of the feed. Vinted relies more on Search SEO and Newness. If you uploaded your inventory a month ago and haven't touched it, you've likely disappeared from the Vinted search results entirely.
How I’m Pivoting My Vinted Strategy
To get my Vinted shop back on track, I’m implementing these three specific changes:
1. The "Relist" Ritual
Unlike Poshmark, where you "share" a listing, Vinted rewards fresh uploads. I’ve started deleting and relisting items that have been sitting for more than 14 days. This puts the item back in the "New" category where the most eyes are.
2. Aggressive Bundle Discounts
Vinted buyers love bundles because it’s the only way they can justify the shipping and buyer fees. I’ve set my bundle discounts to:
10% off 2 items
20% off 3 items
30% off 5 items This encourages "closet sweeping" rather than single-item sales.
3. "Bottom-Dollar" Pricing
Since I don't have to pay a 20% commission (looking at you, Poshmark), I am dropping my Vinted prices by exactly that 20%. This makes the "Total Price" for the buyer much more competitive without hurting my bottom line.
The Verdict: Is Vinted Worth It?
While the performance has been slower than Mercari, Vinted is still a valuable tool for low-weight items and fast-fashion brands that Poshmark's $7.97 shipping kills. By understanding that Vinted is a "bargain" marketplace, we can adjust our expectations and our pricing to keep the inventory moving.
